Citrus leprosis and Brevipalpus mites: current situation in Mexico

چکیده
Citrus leprosis is one of the most important diseases affecting citrus crops in Americas. Mexico sixth largest producer oranges and limes worldwide. was first detected as recently 2005. Since then, this disease has been all Mexican producing areas. Here, we describe current geographical distribution viruses associated with (CiLV-C OFV-Cit) its vectors which are mite species genus Brevipalpus. We outcomes transmission experiments undertaken populations B. yothersi californicus on different species. Potential relationships between symptoms presence CiLV-C and/or OFV-Cit described. Finally, identify future research needed to increase our knowledge epidemiology Mexico.

Role Bending: Complex Relationships Between Viruses, Hosts, and Vectors Related to Citrus Leprosis, an Emerging Disease.
Citrus leprosis complex is an emerging disease in the Americas, associated with two unrelated taxa of viruses distributed in South, Central, and North America. The cytoplasmic viruses are Citrus leprosis virus C (CiLV-C), Citrus leprosis virus C2 (CiLV-C2), and Hibiscus green spot virus 2, and the nuclear viruses are Citrus leprosis virus N (CiLV-N) and Citrus necrotic spot virus. These viruses...
متن کاملCitrus leprosis virus C Infection Results in Hypersensitive-Like Response, Suppression of the JA/ET Plant Defense Pathway and Promotion of the Colonization of Its Mite Vector
Leprosis is a serious disease of citrus caused by Citrus leprosis virus C (CiLV-C, genus Cilevirus) whose transmission is mediated by false spider mites of the genus Brevipalpus. CiLV-C infection does not systemically spread in any of its known host plants, thus remaining restricted to local lesions around the feeding sites of viruliferous mites. To get insight into this unusual pathosystem, we...
متن کاملBrevipalpus mites Donnadieu (Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae) associated with ornamental plants in Distrito Federal, Brazil.
Brevipalpus mites colonize a great number of fruit and ornamental plants. Mite species belonging to this genus have been associated with many plant viruses. Citrus leprosis (CiLV) is the most economically important virus transmitted by B. phoenicis mites. It has recently been shown that ornamental plant species can be alternative hosts of this virus. The high volume of trade and frequent moveme...

ChlorobenziIate--ethyl p, p’dichlorobenzilate-offers certain advantages in citrus pest control: it has a very low toxicity to warm-blooded animals which places it in the same category as Ovotran and Aramite; its application does not seriously affect insect parasites and predators or bees. Chlorobenzilate has a low order of toxicity to insects, therefore applications do not control populations o...
متن کاملAnalysis of Genetic Variation in Brevipalpus yothersi (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) Populations from Four Species of Citrus Host Plants
We studied species diversity and genetic variation among populations of Brevipalpus mites from four species of citrus host plants. We sampled mites on orange, lime, grapefruit and mandarin trees from orchards at six localities distributed in the five most important citrus producing states in Mexico. Genetic variation among citrus host plants and localities were assessed by analysis of nucleotid...
